    That's not bbm or BlackBerry. That's your carriers data plan option. WhatsApp is technically more expensive than BBM.

    Other brands as in other apps? I pay $0.99/year for Whatsapp.

    Maybe it's just your telecom provider since bbm uses data and they charge it separately. What company are you with. Perhaps a user here can assist and recommend someone else.

    BBM is free to use. Never heard of this problem on BB10.
