Differences between the 30 and 10 are not big enough to justify the price tag of the Z30, in my opinion. Not to mention none of my nearby carriers offer it anymore - I would have to buy it unlocked off contract for around $500. Not worth it for an older device in my opinion.

Opinions aside, the z30 is $349 US unlocked from BlackBerry. The verge just posted a good review of the Z30.

I use both the z10 and z30 and the z30 is an upgrade. Both are solid phones, the Z30 just does everything a little bit better.

Trouble is 'a little bit better ' isn't enough to justify the upgrade cost from the Z10 to Z30. IMHO.

    Hello,
I quite agree with you. I received a Z10 from my company and after few weeks I was completely converted to Blackberry. I love the blackberry hub, it is so efficient for e-mails and everything I need a phone for.
Last week I had a great deal on Ebay and got myself a Z30 for personal use.
I have been using it for 2 days now and I am quite disappointed.
The built quality is just not there like the silver ring is made of some cheap plastic.
The round corners are not working with the design of the OS, ect ...

The OS has not been customized for the Z30; the writing in the hub is smaller in the Z30 than on a Z10 which doesn't make any sens. Is it more laggy than the Z10 and half of the apps have a dark background to save power but not the hub! The Z10 is much more consistent device in both design and performance.
Also the screen is very average especially coming from the Z10 which had an amazing screen.

The only good thing about the Z30 in my opinion is the battery life that has been dramatically improved.

No carrier near me carries it so i would have to get it unlocked and that would be around $400 plus taxes and fees it comes to around $500. That's too much for "a little bit better" if you ask me. Especially when I already have a Z10.

Phones are slow for a day or two due to settling in, indexing, syncing mail, contacts, etc, this is normal, backgrounds are adjustable, font sizes are adjustable. Both Z10 and Z30 have round corners, the screen is square so the corners don't affect the OS in any way.

I had the Z10 as soon as it came out, then gave it to my daughter when I got the Z30.
I traded back with her after a few months. I love the speed and everything of the Z30, but found it too big for one handed use.
I am really hoping for another Z10 sized replacement.

I agree with everything you've said on here. The Z10 design is bloody good. I wish it were the norm moving forward and it's really why I have stayed with the device for a couple years now.

    Thanks for your answers.
Actually the biggest problem I have with the Z30 is it consistency with the OS.
I am getting used to the design and I have to admit that the device does feel very well in hand.
If 10.3.1 makes the phone less laggy and consistent with the black theme than I guess the Z30 would be an update from the Z10 but still not for everyone due to it size.

It doesn't, unfortunately. Some system apps are white, some are black, some use system fonts, some use their own, some menus are on the right, some on the left, some on top, focus circles are blue, or green, some icons are big, some small... load it and see for yourself. In my experience no 10.3.1 leak is as smooth as 10.2.1 current official OS. Will check the official 10.3.1 when it becomes available, but don't expect much improvements.

I hope that BlackBerry releases a new Z10 or Z30 before April (with a good price)
. I had attempted to buy an unlocked Z30, but no online website offers it for a fair price.

I didn't need it, but got a z30 on BlackBerry's black Friday sale for $249 Canadian. Great phone, but really z10 can do all the same, just not quite as well. I use both.
