Hi... Hope I can get some help!

After my BlackBerry Z10 said it had more than 13 GB of other data in storage space, which I tried to find using the file manager and never appeared I decided to wipe from factory. I tried to download the new OS update, but due the lack of space I can't.

The phone showed a message "Disconnect the device from the PC" .... it automatically reboot and now it's been more than 3 hours in black screen with a paper shredding machine and a loading circle!

How long is gonna take? Is it normal? Or I will have to toss it away?

what is the paper shredding icon? Any chance you can take a picture with an external device and post it up here for us to see?

    Is the phone fully charged?

Don't mess with it, it's running a security wipe. Since you evidently had quite a bit of stuff on the device memory, a security wipe should take quite some time.

3 hours? honestly that's a discomfort. I'd rather use an autoloader rather than security wipe. Ever since I updated my OS to 10.2.1 my Security Wipe only takes 15 Minutes to perform.

Well, it was almost full when it started. Disconnecting the battery has a chance of causing a brick, and nobody wants a bricked phone. About the only thing you can do is pass the time.

It sucks! I will have to leave my phone in the office since I can't disconnect it from the power outlet!

Do a battery pull and use bblink to reload the OS. I had the same issue.

About a week ago, someone posted that their's ran about 6 hours. I guess BB does not want to leave a shred of data on the device and very thoroughly and SLOWLY erases it all.

Also, it can be very persistent - some folks have pulled the battery and when replacing it, it starts the Shredder again. Just let it run.

    Good luck

I don't think that is good advice. I would suggest you do like Thurask mentioned and just wait it out. Why take a chance?
