Are you wanting to do your own design or just dress it up? There are sites like decalgirl, but I wasn't pleased with it. There are also companies that sell housings in different colours.

I'd be afraid to use spray paint in case it seeps into the cavity of the device. Also Colorware.com.

I should have also added I'd only do it after buying an extra battery door

You may get away with it if you use the white Z10 battery cover, but definitely not the black one. If you do decide to try it on a spare, white door, you'll need a spray paint like Krylon (or similar) that will adhere to a plastic-like surface.
