Now If I have done my maths correctly, my Z10 has broken its personal record of 19 hours battery life to over 30!



Can you believe it? >35mins fit 0% charge!

Now people may think I left my phone off or on standby, but I assure you I used my Z10 like I use normally. That includes browsing the social network (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snap2Chat). I usually in a typical day spend in total 45 mins to 60 mins on these apps combined. Apart from these apps, I read the Guardian (30 mins). Browse 2-3 Youtube videos. (10-15 minutes). WhatsApp (On and off constantly).

Spending that much amount of time on those apps and having such a great batery life seems unbelievable but i couldn't care less what you think

P.S - I followed every possible tip to increase battery life on my Z10

Wow! Battery life really varies from z10 to z10 I guess...

Which variant of the Z10 do you have? Do you get LTE on your mobile network?

I've seen the STL100-1 (no LTE) on AT&T (US) get very good battery life.
Meanwhile, my STL100-3 (yes LTE) on T-Mobile (US) has gotten very poor battery life.

I've recently upgraded to a Z30 which definitely does a lot better than my Z10, but I'm still not sure even it could push 30 hours.

I have STL100-2 4G/LTE Compatible, but I've changed the settings so I only use 3g and 2g

I thought there's finally a way to push Z10 over a day of usage. I still can't wrap my head around why anyone would cripple their phones. Wouldn't you achieve more hours by turning on airplane mode when you don't use it, in addition to forcing it 2G? I wish bb10 is smart enough to just down clock.

My display brightness is at the lowest setting. Have a look at the other people's they've got similiar results

Whilst airplane mode will save battery, you won't be receiving any calls etc, which is the main purpose of a mobile phone...

OK how about turning off mobile data? My point is why would anyone want to cripple the phones features. It's like buying a DSLR to shoot in VGA. Might as well stick with a 3G phone. Unless OP switches between LTE and 2G when he/she see fit. But it's still cumbersome.

I think the phone should be smart enough to handle that. Similar to how Apple Mavericks disables resources on the background apps when a foreground app is in focus in order to extend battery.

My battery life was not good initially. I usually charge my battery before it completely dies, but I remembered an issue with a battery draining quickly on a piece of equipment at work. Turns out we had to let the battery drain completely and recharge in order for it to last longer. It was weird. But it worked. I did the same thing with my phone and I've noticed that it lasts longer now.

My Q10 lasted 4 hours with heavy use at 0% yesterday. So just because your battery looks to be low doesn't mean the device will shut off right away.
