This has grown around a GB in a week. Reminds me of the problem that plagues wp devices.
    Any suggestions?

I've hardly installed like 5 apps from the world. Maybe all my emails. But a GB is a lot of data.

Looks like I will be getting the 64 gb class 10 card soon.

    Other data = pr0n

On a serious note, I think it consist most probably of the phone's OS, applications and user data. But again, mine is showing 5.5 GB and I can't think that it could be so much as I don't have so much apps or data on my phone yet.

I have way more apps (pages and pages) and I'm at 4.6GB... Have you downloaded a lot of attachments in email? Or what five apps? They must be doozies!

That folder consists of all things of your Android side loads and their data, the BB10 OS data files and a few other things like your web browser cache

Yeah at max around 100 mb of attachments and a month of mails. I've got aio remote, jetpack joyride, patterns, password keeper and zara

Anyway, I've come from ios>s605thed.>android>bb5,6,7>wp8>bb10 and I've been greatly impressed with the os.

I feel the z10 is a good device for the 1st gen.

I have 11gb full. Don't have many apps.
All I have is Asphalt7, NOVA and Ice Age. If three games can fill up the memory then I want a 64 gb BlackBerry.

Ya, well it's because i have a LOT of apps downloaded. Nova 3, Asphalt 7, world of goo ETC ETC, so I have a LOT downloaded... so I'm not surprised or concerned about the amount of data used

It's the high end games that fill the space. HD content has to go somewhere you know!

Have you tried searching on Windows Explorer and looking by file size? Assuming you're on Windows. Something else must be in there can't just be the five apps and mail. Let us know, curious...

Mine is 6.5GB... how in a word I have that so much used storage when I have only few apps and games installed? even we have 64GB SD card, those apps and games cannot be transferred to SD card...

There must be some programs that making use of that so much memory... I wonder what they are?...

I noticed the amount of Other data used was much smaller before the OS update to .672. Adding up all my apps installed that can be removed, comes to 409.1 MB out of the 5.2GB that I am seeing. So "Other" must defintely group a lot of things including the OS as a whole, apps, user data, settings, attachments, browser cache, etc.

The os is included on those 16GB. This means you never even have those 16GB free, it's more like 11 or 12GB from the beginning on. Am not sure though, my Z10 has already a few applications on it thus I can't check.

Are they eventually going to make the SD card able to store apps? 16GB just isn't enough for apps and games.

Nope, because of security reasons, they will never allow that
