After months with out one problem with my Z10 I had it charging beside my bed tonight. I look over at it and it appears to be rebooting and there is a rainbow ring on the screen. NOooooo! I pick it up and it is nuclear hot and almost too hot to handle. I unplug it and the ring faded away (seemed to be the screen protector becoming discolored from the heat) and it cooled down. But it didn't charge at all according to the gage after rebooting. Is it safe to plug back in? Is there anything I can do? I'm on Verizon so hopefully I can get the update soon and this will be behind me. But it was certainly un-nervingly hot.

I wouldn't. That sounds dangerous. Sounds like a bad batt. Call your Carrier and/or BlackBerry to see if they'll replace your battery for free.

Yeah replace it before it burns your bed down with it! I'm sure that if you tell them you have chernobyl phone they will try to replace it.
