Just braved an update to 10.1 using the CB Forums today (first time doing this with a BB10 device). I'm on AT&T so 10.1 is not yet available.

After the upgrade, I was happy to discover that there is no shutter sound when I use the camera. Is this just a one-off fluke for me or is this intentional in the 10.1 release? Here's my device info:

Where are you finding that setting to turn off the shutter sound? I'm on 10.1 and I haven't got it.

I did notice its a lot quieter than before. Perhaps you were outside when you used it? Or you just don't have it!

Ok, so I did another restart of the device and the shutter sound is back-- but it is MUCH quieter than in the 10.0 build. I wish Blackberry would just add the option to shut off the shutter sound. There are many (non creepy) instances when it would be nice to turn off the shutter sound (i.e. a music recital, studying in the library, at a public event/speech).

Ugh how many times are people going to repeat this fake law that does not exist anywhere in the US.

I personally prefer the small tick sound of the the burst mode shutter sound so I know the picture took, but it drives me crazy that I don't have the option to change it or turn it off. Like BB decided that I must be some kind of perv or pedophile and need to be saved from myself?? wtf!
