I got my Z10 yesterday and used the automated email set up for my accounts. I just sent a test email from my computer and it showed up on the Playbook, 9900 and Z10 within a few seconds.

I don't have a problem.

Push with POP on BIS was not really instant push either, the BIS servers would poll your pop account every 15 minutes then push it to your device. Even Gmail was synced with IMAP IDLE to BIS and then sent to your phone.

Also not totally true. It would poll every 15 minutes, and then if it retrieved email it would shorten the interval between checks.; during the business day for me that would mean almost instant emails.

Not everyone uses Gmail, contrary to popular opinion. So for a segment of the BB community, the loss of BIS is a real problem in regard to email.

He also said that Z10 had less PPI than iPhone 5, which is a another big lie from either a dumb or a paid (or both) person who don't care people finding out he is lying.

Push works fine on BB10. Gmail and other emails are pushed instantly to the BB10 without you needing BIS or BES.

However, Gmail and other accounts that rely on IMAP IDLE might end up with 15 min delay only if your router/sett ups are not correct.

Not too sure why some people are tripping. I have 3 different email accounts setup on my BlackBerry, one of them being Ryerson Mail (the university I attend) and it does not support push but I still get my emails instantly on my z10 without any 15 minute delay or whatever. There's not even a 5 second delay.

EDIT: I still have a BlackBerry plan because I'm with Bell so maybe that's why I see no difference but what I would suggest for people that have access to their old BIS userid/ pass is to try logging in and register your z10 there. If that works then you have push email.

Not true at all. I have an iPhone 4S backup, used to be my primary before Z10. Plugged in next to my computer, and my Playbook in a dock. Playbook and Z10 notify me before my iPhone (it lights up on the lockscreen). I'll repeat that. The iPhone lags behind my BB devices. Sometimes the Playbook beats the Z10, or vice versa (usually within about a second of each other). All of them are on my WiFi, shared.

Not even remotely true, nice try though. Cheers.
