HAHAHA @ blackberry mail used to be needed and was special. The world moved on and tech changed. We can have Exchange class active sync email from outlook.com for 50 bucks a year and its even better than blackberry.net email these days. Things changed for a reason

I know no one will notice that has the power to make the decision. ...however... I think it would be neat if BB offered stuff like this direct to consumers. Something along the lines of $XX a year and you get an @blackberry email with some other cloud services. Then the people who dont need / want have nothing to worry about, and the ones who do, pay (probably significantly less than the 'blackberry' fee that they were paying monthly to a carrier for).

Blackberry.com is still around except it is for employees. Much like any other company.

So no matter how you look at it using a Z10 involves more money, pay more for emails, pay more for data, pay more for roaming.

In my case I reviewed my plan and got 3 times the data for less per month. My carrier had to offer a plan with more data than my 4 year old plan.

It was for all those iPhone and Android users ;-)

We've been running our own email servers for 15 years now, so while I found the BIS email account useful I'm not too concerned about losing it. Our Z10's still have their own unique email addresses... and that's what I found useful. As others have mentioned there are plenty of places one can host an address to replace their BlackBerry.net identities.

Not an issue for me, but for certain people I can see why it's important
I enjoyed using that address strictly for things I wanted on my phone...mostly wallpapers or berryweather sets. NOTHING important. So I have just gotten used to it not being available. I DID read about all of this though before I got my Z10 so I went into it with eyes wide open.
