    I'm on a virtual carrier, got APN setting right, have Internet but no bb sign on top, and bbm is not working...
    WhatsApp is working fine...

    Any ideas? Although the carrier isn't supporting bb at all, it is strange cause no bb plan is needed.

    Carrier needs to support BlackBerry services for a BlackBerry phone to work properly, it's a bit of a myth that all you need is data.
    You need to get a sim card with BlackBerry services included in the plan.
