Auto brightness is enabled by default. Set your brightness appropriately. And please be easy with language

It changes according to your ambience light. Meaning when you go from highly lit area to poorly lit area. The screen goes down in brightness. Set the level of brightness viewing your hub to get the white color brightness. And the video will seem fine. Are you all the way up on brightness?

Or you can set the brightness from the options page too. To get the white color brightness. And not from the quick settings

There was an issue at one point with the sensor calibration data supposedly messing up all the sensors, including the ambient light meter.

Try restarting your Z. If it still doesn't work, download BlackBerry virtual expert from BlackBerry World and there is a test specifically for the ambient light sensor.

To check if the auto brightness is working make sure your in a decently light area, cup your hand over the top of your device (hold your hand there), watch the screen carefully it should dim down a bit and when you remove your hand it should light up a bit... at least that's how I check to make sure it's working

Check out BlackBerry Virtual Expert in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/27226887

Check your sensors in it. It has the light sensor

It worked in the test menu so it isnt broken...

Maybe its because i am in my room with the lights on? (they are not super bright) and it is 9:30 PM

I will try out tomorrow outside

    Thanks all!

Your welcome. It can also be if you are watching a video in some 3rd party apps. Some apps use full brightness by default.
