Hi, been a while since I posted in the z10 forums, and I think the first time with a fault...

Not entirely sure what to search for, so I thought I'd start a new topic.

My phone's brightness is locked on maximum, the battery is running hot, the phone isn't auto-locking, and the lock/power button only partially works.
The button only works in the 'hold down' feature, for rebooting and powering off, but doesn't work in single click mode...

Any suggestions? I'll probably do a device wipe now, just to see if that works, as battery pulls/rebooting does not.

Anyone else had this fault?

P.S.
Annoyingly, I was only bragging a week ago to my missus that my phone was as good as new, with no faults, when we got the z10/S3 at the same time! KARMA!

Try hard reset first (by holding both volume buttons for 30 seconds).
Download and run BBVE to see if any hardware issues exist.

I plugged it in to PC, wasn't connecting, so Link asked to do factory reset. It didn't do the factory reset, but rebooted the phone, and everything was normal again.

But it appears we are back to normal, I shall see how we go

Happy its running normal again. Recent software download/sideload or apk install corrupting the phone? Guess we will never know. Keep us updated with any further adverse events.

Were you running any Android apps when this started? Kindle will if you touch it wrong, drive the brightness high, but only when it is running.

The most recent app running was the beta of Snap2Chat, but I hadn't touched the phone for at least an hour, the phone locked itself. I went to unlock it, screen lit up bright, and that's the first I noticed anything wrong. strange, at least it works now. Done a factory reset anyway, just because I could. Thought I'd screwed it up further. Took about 6hrs to complete!
