Hi folks,

I'm already a happy PlayBook owner (albeit a little disappointed that BB10 hasn't yet arrived on PB in some form) and have decided to bite the bullet and purchase a new Z10. It will arrive on Monday.

The majority of comments on here look promising. For me, I am hoping more than anything that the Z10 holds a signal well, without any network dropout. I briefly owned a Bold 9900 recently and that was a huge issue, forcing me to return it.

Can anyone confirm how the Z10 compares to the Bold 9900 in these terms?

Also, the Bold's battery life was awful (presumably because it spent so much time in 'SOS' looking for a 3G signal). Is the Z10's better? I hear the latest update has a really positive effect on battery life.

Also, I have read contradictory posts about whether it is possible to send SMS text messages from the Playbook via Bridge with a BlackBerry 10 device. This seems really useful to me so hope this is the case...

Battery life is much better post update and once you tweak the settings and give it a few full days charge. Would say it's about 30% better but it's a bit early to tell. Enjoy the new phone you'll love it.

Re: sms, at the moment you cannot send sms via the playbook whilst bridged to a z10,
I was able to with my previous blackberry, but now its very limited what bridging can do.
Hopefully a future update will bring more features.

The Z10 is a fantastic phone , losing the feautures ( temporarily. ) far outweighs the inconvenience.

Never had a problem with my 9900... But love my Z10 a whole lot more...no regrets the whatsoever!

Had it for almost a week, and absolutely loving it! Performance is first class, lovely screen, great battery life, awesome signal (different league to 9900).

Only thing I'm not completely happy with is the lack of apps. Hopefully this will improve fast, but as my Z10 does virtually everything I want already it doesn't bother me much.
