It's supposed to notify me when upgrades are available, but just cause I was bored, I clicked on "check for OS upgrades" in the settings on my Z10. It said a new version is available..... anyone else see this? is this old? Why won't my Z10 tell me when an update is available, and also why can I download the same OS update over and over again? Am I losing space every time I download the same file?

What OS? What carrier? And are you deleting apps that are built into the phone? That would cause the phone to ask you to reload the same OS over and over.
