    Hi guys
First, love cb, it's the first app I downloaded since ever blackberry search I made cb was top on the search list.
Nways am from kenya, Africa, but currently in US for biz n decided ditch my old android phone for a unlocked z10.
The learning curve is steep but all is well so far so great.

The hottest news is the 10.2.1 and question is if it's a good idea to try install esp since am a newbie and the OS is buggy for some models, mine is Z10STL100-4/10.1.0.2151 n I read I myt lose calling function. Or maybe I can wait n do it from kenya. Also am using a foreign Sim on roaming. So no OTA for me. What's the latest Os I can install safely an can i download and save this version safely some where incase things go wrong?

It is really safe, trust me, I just did it, and besides if you take a back up of your phone, then it's so safe!

I've had it for two days with no problems at all and I'm running six android apps with no problem at all. Very steady and fast. One thing I will say that it gives u a bit of bad battery life. Not a deal breaker for me but if you're traveling make sure u have your charger. 1791 was best for battery so this 1055 is like any other phone as far as battery goes. 1791 spoiled us but 1055 has thrilled us with its fast response time and excellent handling of android apps. I suggest u download 1mobile to get your Android apps as it has an excellent selection, DROID Store would be my second, which u can download here. Enjoy, and only the brave and curious are a the ones that jump to the BlackBerry World, a world so sophisticated that it will survive the test of time. Welcome to our world.

mig said it best. 10.2.0.1791 is great OS and I think most have that. The new 1055 has surprised me, most are calling it very stable and bug free for them. 10.2.1.1767 has been picked up by actual carriers. I have stayed on it and its totally perfect. Looking forward to the new 10.2.1 someday.

I would get started on the 1767 the 1791 was only minor improvements. these will keep you from having issues and you can just deal with learning and apps. http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...evices-855385/

    Welcome to CB cap10,
I recall when I first saw the Z10, I had to have it... and I love my BlackBerry just as much today as to when I first bought it back in February.

When I heard about loading leaks on to my phone, I really didn't want to, in case the leak stopped my precious from working. But eventually I loaded the leaks and it made my Z10 even better.

Currently running 10.2.1.1055 and having no issues.

    Post via my Z10!

Welcome to CB. The part where you heard that you may lose calling function was posted when the 10.2.1.1055 first hit the forums for the Q and for the STL 100-1. Later the rest of the devices were added with a working radio file, so calling is no problem. Your battery life will not be as good for 24 to 48 hours after downloading, but it will settle down after the phone populates your texts, contacts, emails and the like.

As has already been mentioned, make a backup of your phone before installing the leak. The autoloader in the leak will wipe your device and install the new OS. I then set up my accounts manually and go through all the standard set up of the phone like you did when you first got it. I restore from backup through BlackBerry Link all my settings, data, and apps. Others do not, preferring to restore settings and apps manually. They will then restore data from backup.

There is also an app you can download that is free in BlackBerry World called Fire Chest Backup. This is a great way to backup your device OTA to a cloud. Works great. Once you load the new OS, you will have to reload the Fire Chest App and you can restore from it. Make sure you keep your phone plugged into a power source.

    Officially on 1791.
Once I get the hang of this then it's off to 1055
