    please i need your help,

this is my video, it took 8 seconds to send 1 sms (short message)

why my z10 very slow respond when i try to send sms (short message)

its not happen to whatapp or bbm, just happen when i send a sms (short message)

any idea to improve the speed for send 1 sms (short message) ?

    update :
thanks for many respond in this forum
may be my short message (sms) is full, so i must delete my sms(short message) to get better speed on compose message, but i disappointed if this happen, because, before i use this z10 ( i buy this z10, 1 week ago) , i use bold 9900, and it can keep my short message(sms) until 1 month

before i use z10, i use dakota bold 9900, and it`s fine, i press "send" the message directly sent. but in my z10, it must wait untul 8 second to send 1 message

Why would it be carrier issue?

He's hitting send on his Z10, its lagging and taking 8 seconds before the message goes from the compose field in to the SMS thread.

I'd understand it to be a carrier issue if after submitting there was a delay in processing the transmission of the message, but this is simply going from the compose field to the thread.

Mine used to pretty slow on the old os, but still not that slow. When updated to 10.0.10.90 it was quicker and there was no lag from send to the message disappearing. However it still isn't as smooth as Whatsapp or bbm, definitely. Needs work.

Surely it should take 8 seconds for all those on Verizon then?

It takes mine about 1-2 seconds, I'm on Vodafone UK, so... Z10, not carrier.

What is your BB10 software version? Go to Settings > About. Maybe you need to wait for the latest software version, and the time lag will go away? Is there Indonesian Bahasa as a language choice? Did you set 4G LTE when you are not in the range? How about changing to 3G and 2G only?

This is a known issue. I have had Z10 since 1/30 and have had this issue since the beginning. I have had a case open with Blackberry. Unfortunately, this issue is not scheduled to be addressed until the 10.1 UI update.

Yes...this has nothing to do with carriers. It has to do with the size of your SMS database and how the Z10 deals with it.

I used to get this issue on my Bold 9900 when I had insanely long sms threaded convos multiplied by many convos with different people.
The solution was to delete prior (emptied out the entire longgg history, potentially maybe why theres a 30 day limit for z10 emails?)

A delete prior on the Z10 doesnt fix the issue like the 9900 though, but thanks for opening a case with Blackberry, hopefully it gets adressed soon

I don't have this problem, but you guys are saying that if I just kept all my text messages (without deleting any), I would start to experience this lag? Is that what I'm understanding? How many messages does it take to get to this point? I'm curios because I delete all text messages once I'm done with having conversations.

Just tried this and sms went faster on packet switched. Thanks!

I have 22,000+ sms messages in my Z10. Thanks to using the device switch option from my 9900. I wanted to start completely fresh on the Z10 but it ended up transferring all those messages.

My sms app on my Z10 is also very slow but I figured it was probably because all those messages I transferred to it.
