After updated to 10.3.x, my z10 can not shut down completely. It flashes red light sequently 1101111 after the phone off. And then i can not turn it on by pressing power button 1 time any more, i have to hold down for more than 10s then the phone may turn on or continuously flash red 1101111. See the video bellow for more details. In 10.2.x version, my z10 is working fine and can shutdown completely. Can anyone give me a solution please.

Backup and then destructively reload a (stable) OS.

It's annoying that BlackBerry won't disclose the meaning of the LED blink codes. The ones for the old BBOS devices are available from a third party on the Internet, but nothing that I have been able to find for BB10 devices (which are presumably different). Why can't they just officially list the values on their support pages?! *rant over*

Anyway, are you sure 10.2 still works? Have you installed it since the problem, or are you just assuming it does based on the fact that it worked before 10.3? Could be something hardware related that just coincidentally occurred after the 10.3 update.

I've been searching on the BB support page but nothing has been found for the led code, i dont know why they give these codes but nothing to know what they are, very annoying !

10.2.x is working fine im sure, there is a thread of whose z10 has the same issue as mine on BB official page. You can take a look at here (sorry i cannot post the link, replace "," with "." please)

The problem will be either the hardware, the software, or the user.

I'm inclined to think it's not the user in this case, you seem to know what you're doing and the thread you posted suggests that at least one other seemingly competent person has the same problem. So I'll assume you have used the correct OS and radio files etc.

The software/firmware should be OK too, one of the OSs you listed was the official release that I'm using, and I don't have this problem (fingers crossed), and it seems to be very rare.

So finally we have the hardware. I presumed that the flash codes are generated by the boot ROM, so it is a little unclear to me why the OS would make a difference, but assume that it does for the moment.
You are presuming that there is nothing wrong with the hardware because it works with 10.2. This doesn't have to be the case. For example, it may be a (possibly intermittent) hardware fault which 10.2 ignores but BlackBerry have been stricter with in 10.3. Alternatively, you could have some bad RAM, 10.2 perhaps doesn't use the RAM for anything important during boot, but 10.3 does. And so on.

I don't see what else can be wrong so, if no one else chimes in with better suggestions, I'm sorry to say that the hardware is most likely faulty.
I'll point you to this thread:
    https://supportforums.blackberry.com...g/td-p/3061179
But I won't hold my breath.
EDIT: have a look at this thread too, particularly post number 17 by BigBadWolf:

You have little to lose by trying it.

Could you also please tell us which z10 model (STL...) you have just for the record.

Thank you for making this clear, I'll try SIC multiwipe and hope it solves my issue.
I'm using STL100-3. Do you think that the battery causes this prolem ?

It was the cfp that I was suggesting, not the multi wipe. I thought I had written that, but it seems not. It may not matter anyway.

Sadly I have no idea what the cause of this rare problem is, I'm just suggesting anything that might have any potential to help you.

My Z10 10.2.1.3253 had the same blink code symptom when I shutdown the device with a non-AT&T SIM installed. Searching Internet at the time, I found several articles that indicated: "1101111 Exception: undefined instruction Bad memory hardware." To resolve the issue at that time, I installed my AT&T SIM and I repeatedly shutdown and rebooted my phone until it shutdown properly. The issue went away after I upgraded my Z10 to 10.3.1.1016 (or maybe 10.3.1.2243). That is, the phone shutdown properly with a non-AT&T SIM installed. I have not tested for the issue since then. Good luck.

My Bell Z10 STL100-3 has software release 10.3.1.1865, OS version 10.3.1.2708 loaded via Bell's update.
I too have this issue when I tried to shut down before exchanging the battery (want to give them equal wear) Get the blinkies when I tried to restart. After many attempts, including connecting to Link via the USB cable, it finally rebooted. Don't remember the exact sequence of buttons I don't want to test just to find out.

    https://chimeratool.com/help/BlackBe...om-blink-codes

I have exactly the same problem. Z10 just blinks red 11 + 1111 or 11 + 10101 if I remove the SIM. After holding the on switch for over ten seconds it would sometimes reboot. The chimera tool allowed me to change the OS but that seemed to be the final straw - so to speak. Now very dead. The boot ROM hardware in the Z10 STL100-3 RFF91LW must be flawed and will not handle a 10.3.1 or higher update. Have to assume with lack of any support or acknowledgement from Blackberry that they no longer care.

My advice is to never update the OS, ever and get an Android when you wear it out.
