My thoughts with the Z10 and all nay sayers

So here it is. I'll give it to you straight.

I am a 49 year old male. I got my first BB when they were blue and had a track wheel. The only reason I bought it was because I needed a phone and it was the cheapest I could find. Never heard of BB before that. I instantly fell in love with the phone. Not because of the phone itself but more from the simplicity and ease of use. I've been a BB fan ever since. My last phone was a 9900 which I bought a year ago on a three year plan through Rogers.

When the Z10 was first introduced last year I told my wife that I wanted one as my Christmas gift (even though it would be a month or so past Christmas before I got my gift). Then I heard that Rogers were taking pre-orders so I signed up as soon as I could. I had number 456 (or something like that). I was like a giddy little kid driving my wife nuts since Christmas. I was reading everything I could about the new BB. I was getting excited. Then, the night before release I read a lot of negative comments and was getting worried. I almost convinced myself that on that Tuesday I was going to buy a new IPhone. But Tuesday came around and I went back on Crackberry.com and started reading the personal thoughts from people who just got their phone. Most thoughts were very positive and that convinced me that I was definitely getting the new BB.

Now, once again I'm reading reviews, and while most are positive some are very negative. I find that most negative reviews are from owners of other phones such as IPhone. I can appreciate what they are saying and how they have negative comparisons. I won't hate them because they have an opinion. They are mostly honest and usually non-biased.

However, I have never had an IPhone or an Android device. So as far as I'm concerned, the Z10 is the best phone I have ever owned. I am extremely pleased with it and am very happy. I'm still a giddy kid trying to get used to it.

There has been a lot of specific complaints. No Skype,,,, wait its coming. Calendar is limited,,, I found an app that does what the calendar doesn't. Battery life sucks.... I bought a spare battery. Lack of flashing coloured notification lights,,,, who the f*ck cares. Doesn't sync with the Playbook as older phones,,, wait it's coming. Lack of blah blah blah.

I guess what I'm saying is that I love this phone and I realize that its missing some things I loved from my 9900. However, I accept that and have adapted to it. I have never once thought, I'm taking this piece of sh*t back. I would never go back to my 9900. I just want to keep moving forward.

I've also read some threads from reputable reviewers who say they are knowledgeable because they have the latest 8 smart phones. Seriously, who has that many phones??? And what the h*ll do they do with all of them?? They probably have one just for Angry Birds and one for Skype.

Also, with people who want more than 70,000 apps, I think they should try dating. It's more fun and more intimate.

The new BB Z10 is amazing. No phone will do everything you want it to do. You just have to make it your phone. I'm sure if I went on the IPhone forum I would see a lot of negative posts as well.

I didn't think twice about buying my amazing new Z10 outright from Bell on Tuesday. After I got home from work, after using it a bit during the day and still getting used to it, I came home to lots of negative posts on the forum as well. I was a bit worried because I hadn't used the phone enough to get used to it - heck, there's still s**t I'm finding out about it!

Anyway, I agree with you. After using it more and based on MY OWN judgement... This phone is incredible, and it will only get better.

I've been very vocal in my support of this product, but I've also done my best to be honest. I don't think the Z10 is a perfect design, but I DO think BB did a remarkable job in a number of areas. I think there is very much a market for this phone right now, and as it finds that market more apps will come and more users will be drawn in.

One must never forget that forums generally exemplify the negative. Why? Because negative people are more likely to gripe about their phone on a forum. Take the Storm for example... Was it a crappy phone? Well, no, but it was not their best device, it has some issues... If you came on CrackBerry during that time it was more like "OMG THE WORLD IS GOING TO END; THIS IS THE WORST PHONE EVER"... The fact that there are fairly few negative posts about the Z10, in general, speaks to me in volumes. It must be a really good device!

The same can be said for anything online... Reviews of anything... It really does not matter... Angry users will always be heard more than happy users... If I had my Z10 now, I would be posting rarely for a long while as I got to play around with the device.

Sadly USA is being screwed right now!!!

And yet you offer on as many threads as you can the solutions and workarounds and nobody listen and keep complaining....
