Okay. So my z10 seems to be back to normal.

    Here's what I did:
    Turned off the device
    Removed the SD card
    Turned on the device
Opened the picture app and waited until everything was sorted
Afterwards, I opened the camera app and took a picture and closed the app
Opened the pictures app and waited for a few seconds for it to show up
While the device is on, I inserted the SD card
Opened up the pictures app and waited until the SD card was indexed
After it was indexed, opened the camera and selected yes to always save on media card
Take a picture and see if the problem is now fixed.

Geez I'm sorry. I don't understand why this problem persists for so many users. I would love for a more knowledgeable person to give us some insight... PLEASE!!!

Yes please! I need the remedial version. If someone could replicate the solution they come up with it would be so great! Or if anyone is aware this is a known issue being worked on?

Groan! Me too. Pictures w no thumbnail found thru file manager. I only noticed this tonight, but actually have been snapping pics and sharing from the camera screen since the update. I am Verizon official 10.2.1

This is the only thread I found. Anyone find any other threads addressing this problem?

I've recently encountered this problem and resolved it somehow by forcing the phone to reindex files stored on my media card. I turned on USB mass storage device from media card settings, and turn it off again and resetted the phone.

The pics now show up again in the picture app and in file manager, their thumbnails show too. I've tried taking a new picture and everything appears to be normal. Hope the problem doesn't come back.

Call BlackBerry and ask them about ticket 26400917 if you want to see if anything gets worked on after reporting it.

You may need to transferred from your carrier to avoid paying $50 an hour, though.

All I did was remove the battery and reboot. I was only able to see 30 pictures in the viewer app and most of my pictures did not have a thumb nail view, but after a hard restart everything is there in the viewer now and all of my new pictures show up properly. 80/20 rule. 80% of a the time a reboot fixes your problem.

SInce I updated to 10.2.1, pictures that are taken and saved to the media card will not show up in the Pictures app. I have tried the following:

    -A battery pull
-Removing and reinserting the media card
    -Formatting the media card

None of which work. I know there are other threads about this issue on previous OSes but I wanted to post here to see if anyone has seen this issue since updating and to get a solution from the helpful CrackBerry gang.

EDIT (potential fix): GSM-S detailed how he got this fixed in his instructions below

EDIT 2: Here is dawnjc79's fix:

Good luck to anyone with this issue

A few suggestions. Have you tried saving your pictures to Internal Memory and see if that works.

As for Mass Storage, I would guess the Q is the same as the Z

Pull down Settings, scroll down to Storage and Access. Scroll to the bottom of that page and turn on Mass Storage using the slider.

    Good luck.

Quick question: do the files show just with a generic thumbnail icon? Or does the card almost appear empty? Before you updated your OS, was the SD card encrypted?

This is what I see in file manager, media card...

My Pictures saved to Media Card won't Show up in the Pictures App after 10.2.1-img_20141014_022624.png

No the card was never encrypted. I can see pics & thumbnails on the device...

After I reboot, when I open pics media manager it starts to scan media card but somehow it stops almost everytime here...

My Pictures saved to Media Card won't Show up in the Pictures App after 10.2.1-img_20141011_163508.png

I don't see the turn media mass storage option in media card settings on 10.3.1.632. I found the mass storage option, it's in Access using USB. Hard rebooted my phone now... hope its works. It has started media card scan again in pic app....

Also in media apps for pics, videos & music it doesn't show anything on media card, while file manager does show but with out thumbnails...

    Kindly pls help & guide

Well, since you are using an unofficial leaked OS and things don't always work right in such a case, you may want to try posting in the leaked OS thread.

I loaded all contents from SD card to PC, formatted the card on device.....

I almost copied all one folder by folder.... it worked good....

Now just 3 video files I have copied, its scanning.... it's taking a bit longer than what it did while copying other folders and even other videos....

hope it indexes and scans media card soon..... or may have to remove those video folders & try copy those too one by one.

thx all for your suggestions & help.

Battery life is bad on 10.3.1.632 on Q10.... just average 4-5hrs...

What happens if you shut off wifi, power down the phone, remove the SD card and restart the phone. Wait a good 5 minutes for the phone to find its happy place. Open picture viewer. Open file manager.
    Close them. Leave wifi off.
Restart the phone. Wait for the happy place. Shove in the hot swappable sd card and see what happens.
Won't take long to find out.
