I purchased a movie on BBW and downloaded it on my Z10. I then transferred the file from my Z10 to my PC and then to my Playbook. My problem now is that when I try to play the file on the Playbook, it tells me I am not authorized to watch on this device. How do I fix this? I tried accessing the movie through BBW on the playbook but it does not show. There has to be a way to get a movie purchased from BBW onto the Playbook.

    Thanks!

As far as I know, the only way to play movies downloaded from the BBW on the Z is to play them on the Z.
They are not eligible to be played on any other device. Use an hdmi cable and output to your tv maybe?

As Jaydee noted, the STORES selling these movies are different and you canNOT just move a movie from one device to another. The movies are "coded" for the original device where you purchased the movie.

I don't have two bb10 devices but I think I read you canNOT even direcly move a movie from the z10 to the q10. But in that case, I THINK, you can download it a second time to the q10 (where it will be encoded for the q10). Again, I'm not sure about this.

Same problem here... I downloaded Home Alone 2 (free) yesterday on my Q5, and I transfered the file on my playbook but it wouldn't let me play it. Since watching a full movie on a Q5 screen is somewhat painfull, it kinda sucks.

Apparently a movie bought on BBW can be transfered to up to 5 devices, but then I guess it's only to BB10 devices.

Grab an hdmi cord folks and hook up your BlackBerry to your TV. It's like watching it from your dvd player or native tv.

That kind of sucks. So if you want to watch this movie later, you are sacrificing a lot of media card space (~2Gb). Is there a way to transfer it off and then put it back on later for viewing purposes? Wondering if you are still authorized if you move it off and then back on.

I did that experiment just this morning. YES, you can copy or move it to your computer and delete it from the z10 and then in the future copy/move it back and watch it. I copied the file to my pc. Deleted it from the z10. Rebooted to make sure it was gone. Later copied it back to the z10 and it played fine. Copying a 1gig+ file using wifi sharing takes its time but it worked.
