Mireo is great. I use it all the time when needed. Best interface of any nav app imo. There's a free trial period if you'd like to try it all. As far as maps, choose the one you need.

It's not free like said above. Takes some time to get use to the UI.

Free "trial period". It's free to try for 7 days.

Can't help with the maps but Mireo is pretty good. The interface is a little klunky but it works and hasn't let me down.

To those that are using NavFree, how do you type in the street number?

I use it quite a lot. Living in a border town, Mireo has helped more times than I can count and saved me tons of $$ in roaming charges.

I tried NavFree and the app could not find a single address that I typed in. Tried addresses all around my city and could not find a single one. Deleted.

I had the same experience with Navfree, I have never regretted purchasing Mireo. The one time it struggled was because I put the coordinates in incorrectly (it's a long time since I was in the scouts!).

I posted in your other thread too before I saw this. I've used it a lot when travelling with a motorhome, the only fault I can say it has is that you cannot set a minimum width for a road (like the more specialised devices sold by the caravan club). However it is much cheaper and has received regular map updates (although not this year..).

Mireo is really good, I use it a lot as I don't need a mobile signal to use it. It's also very fast at updating the route e.g. if it says turn left and you go straight it will instantly find a new route.

Like others, I use Mireo for its offline ability. I, too, am sometimes befuddled by its user interface. I was able to procure the maps on a sale that they had which was nice. Got both US and Europe.

Anyone know how to enter a route from a start and finish point that you currently aren't at?

Ie, create a planned route like you can with BlackBerry maps

Search the first location, click into the address and Set as Start.

Search the second location, click into the address and Set as Destination.

Go into Routes from the main menu and Save Route.

    Awesome, thanks for the help,
For the second location I kept setting as 'navigate to' and I think that is where I was messing up

I used to set the locations as adjoining waypoints on my current route, now that was convoluted silliness *bows*.

I cuurently have my maps on the phone and wish to move them over to my sd card. Can this be done with the update? Or do I have to delete app and reinstall?

    Thanks!!

You might be able to move the entire maps folder, but I've never tried it.

When you perform the update it asks where to store the new maps, choose SD.

    P.S. Thank you James.

Got a 2014 map update a few days ago. Not sure how long it's been available.

STILL waiting for an app update. It works better than most when navigating, but inputting addresses is still a pain in the arse!

I thought I'd updated this thread to notify people of the update, it's been available for a few months.

It would be nice to see an app update but I'm not holding my breath, a check to see if location services are on at startup would be good.. it would save me a few swipes (even if it had the option to automatically turn them off again upon app closure).
