This maybe an odd question, but I lost the ability to send or receive SMS/texts. I received the phone on Saturday and it work fine until today. Now it is probably an easy fix, probably have turned something on or off.

Any suggestion gratefully accepted.

Did you transfer data from a previous BlackBerry device? Specifically, did you transfer your old text / SMS messages?

If so, please consult: KB33653-BlackBerry 10 device is not able to send or receive text messages after restoring SMS messages data from BlackBerry 7 or lower device

Thanks for the link. It worked fine the first day. After the restore, the LinkedIn Icon is partially there, but no program. Trying to delete/uninstall in App World, but not having much luck.

Doing a reboot now. see what happens.

Same. Partial icon. Followed Deleting apps - How To - BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone - 10.0.0 but can uninstall or reinstall or delete. Still says it is installed. Probably part of the OS.

Wait, what? You lost the ability to text, but what does LinkedIn have to do with it? Is it a separate issue that you deleted the LinkedIn app? What happened then? What does a "Partial" icon look like?

Yeah, you can't delete pre-installed apps. Unfortunately, it sound like something else went wrong. Would you consider reloading your device from scratch (this goes beyond wipe) and then trying again? This is result in your text messaging working and your LinkedIn app being back. To do this, do the following:

1. Perform full OS reload steps provided here: KB33480-BlackBerry 10 smartphone does not boot and displays a Phone with USB icon after an interrupted Security Wipe

2. Perform only the *restore* part of the original instructions (skip the wipe, you've already reloaded): KB33653-BlackBerry 10 device is not able to send or receive text messages after restoring SMS messages data from BlackBerry 7 or lower device
