hi guys, im currently on verizon running the latest version vzw sent out a couple months ago ota. this os has sucked for me and ive been itching for a leak. the latest 10.3 leak seemed like a dream until my phone turned it into a nightmare. ive literally been trying to back up my z10 for the past 3 days using multiple usb cables, multiple 2.0/3.0 usb ports, windows 8 pc and a retina mb pro running parallels with windows 7 with no luck. my sd card is nearly full so thats not an option either. ive searched google, here and blackberry forums for help to no avail. he only way link sees my z10 is through wifi. ive toggled the storage settings for auto-detection and mac and pc. rebooting didnt help. uninstalling link didnt help. the update drivers trick didnt work either. i just dont understand why something as simple as backing up my phone turned out this way. i normally never have an issue i cant fix myself but im stomped and seriously close to shooting this phone. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just know windows, some people have deleted the BlackBerry drivers on their pc, then rebooted and then they were able to carry on.

yeah ive done that and still nothing. my z10 only charges. link doesnt recognize nor does the computer so i cant even run the autoloader

Did you use device manager on the PC? It should show up as a yellow question mark usb device, delete that... then unplug and plug back in.

What happens when you set media storage as "USB mass storage"... does it at least recognize your SD card?

Also... there's a new setting on 10.3 that's called "Device Connections". Mine is toggled to on... what about yours?

Do this on your PC.
In you blackberry, click System Settings >Storage and Access > set the USB connection to connect to Windows.

It seems that you've done what I'd suggested but you can uninstall the link reboot your PC, install the link again without connecting Z10 initially. Then connect after you have set USB connection to Windows not auto

Are you on the new 10.3 leak? If yes, you need to plug in your device, go to my computer, click on the blackberry drive to run it, then select option to install drivers, restart phone and restart computer, open link and you should have connection. This is how I fixed the connection issue after I upgraded to the new leak

No I'm on 10.2.1.2976 trying to go to 10.3 because I hate this os I'm in now.
I did this ota with no problems but this is has been nothing but problems

Go to settings - storage and access - usb connection - change from auto to windows.

Have you checked in the Parallels configuration to be sure it is set to use the Blackberry in Windows instead of on the Mac side? You can set it to always connect to Windows.
