wait, line out to separate headphone amp, I'm not quite sure I understand but base on what I understand this is what I have to say

as a musician I always use my q10 to play the background music while I'm drumming or doing a guitar solo, I've been using my q10 with a regular 3.5 jack plug directly to my 16 track mixer and I've been playing with that since day 1 on blackberry (8900) and it always work.

Now did I miss something ? if you ask if you can plug a 3.5 mm audio cable in your phone and then outputting sound from your phone to your stereo, it work.

I think the issue here could be headphone impedance if I'm not mistaken. A couple things you can try are: 1. Using Neutron music player from BB World. It is a paid app and the UI is a mess, but the sound quality out of it may make up for the impedance difference if that is indeed your issue. 2. You can get headphones that are a little less high end, or that have a lower impedance OR a pair with switchable impedance (it that even exists). All of this is assuming that the issue you are having is related to impedance in the first place!
