All the redundant/useless icons really annoy me. The Phone can be accessed via the dock as can the search and the camera. No need for those icons. We don't need the settings, it's available in the drop down menu (although, I can understand someone wanting this icon)others like Help can be accessed via search and to be honest, even then I don't ever use it. I barely use App World (again, I use Search for this). Its so easy to access texts via the Hub that I hate the icon. Anyways, this is what I've done with them

I agree - and I would love to be able to hide those away like on the Bold. I used keyboard shortcuts exclusively and only had apps showing for the programs without shortcuts. I'm waiting on the Q10 for Verizon to see if I would like it, although I do love the screen on the Z10.

Yes we should be able to hide icons like on legacy.. I hid most of the redundant icons and out of.site out of mind. What I do have an issue with is people saying they shouldn't be there just because they don't use them. Its a bit selfish and I hear it a lot here... millions of people use this phone and everyone has different needs and ways they feel the phone should suit their needs. But limiting someone else's needs to suit your own satisfaction is not the way to go.

I didn't mean that all the ones I don't use should be removed. I was just making the point that it makes no sense to have a Phone icon or a search, or a camera. Even the Text Messages icon is redundant but I can see someone using that.

I like what jerry did, just make a folder, call it BlackBerry and it's all in one place and doesn't clutter the home screen. I keep one single folder on the last page anyways because I like to see the full wallpaper which is usually a picture of my family.

Right. Just put them in a folder and move the folder to the last pane... Done. I even have a folder for the apps that I don't use at all, but trigger micro updates if deleted (so I just hide them and they don't bother me).

Why do we have retundancy? Because different people have different needs. We've adopted the "dock". Some people prefer to have the icons handy.

And BlackBerry has always been known for giving us choise!

Yeah, I put all of that in a "Utilities" folder that is the last icon on my last pane, next to the "Rare Usage" folder that contains apps I like but don't need constant access to (like Calculator, Box, Maps, Parrot, 360 Panorama, etc.)
