    Hi,

Due to the lack of speedtesting apps I have been trying to use the speed test.net website to check my speed. However when i try to get it to work the site loads very slow and my LTE speeds usually report as 3ish mbs. I have always found it strange my LTE speeds were being reported that slow so I tried a speed test at speedtest.frontier.com and avged between 5 and 25mbs per second always faster then the official speed test website even though they are all based upon the same tech.

Has anyone else noticed weird results from speedtest.net on their z10s compared to other speed test apps?

Try sideloading the speedtest.net app. I regularly see numbers in the high teens on it.

I've sideloaded the Android version and it works great, seems to report accurate speeds including LTE. However I do get slower speeds with fewer bars/weaker signal, as would be expected.

+1 for the sideloaded version. In the same locations at the same time, I received wildly different results from the web version vs the app. The app seemed more consistent with my browsing speed.

The side loaded version reports pretty accurately and consistently. I usually get 23 - 48 Mbps on FIDO LTE . I have never tested on the website version.

I think I have found the issue/reason. When I am using the frontier speed test I am testing to Chicago when I busy speed test it sends me to a server in Missouri. I think the server I'm Missouri is having issues and that's what causing it.

I also believe frontier is the back haul provider for Verizon wireless down here so speed testing to a frontier service most likely involves less switches then speedtest
