you are right the last version of oginsta doesn't work...now I'm using the official version of Instagram (version 9.1.0-353676.10 apk) until now works

is it only the last version (10.1.0) the one that does this (hang on open) or any older version after 9.1 does the same (9.7 - 9.7.5 - 9.8 - 10.0.1)?

with the last version if you go to android settings and clear the data of instagram app it works, but only one time, if you close it and reopen it without clearing app data it will hang

Not sure about upto v9.7. I am using v9.3.5 and seems to be working just fine.

have not tested any of the older versions yet, but wanted to add that google maps is doing the same thing, opens, works for a couple of seconds then hang, wtf.
