These people have to be the biggest morons. Between their "Android BlackBerry" advertising, ignorant reps and then listing the Z10 as a 3G device...It's a wonder they manage a successful business.

Stay in touch with this BlackBerry Z10 WHITE unlocked cell phone that features a BlackBerry 10 operating system and 3G speed for reliable performance. Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to access e-mail, social networks and more on the go.

Best Buy isn't very good at knowing what they are selling sometimes. Most of the sales people I've talked to there really don't know much about the phones they sell.

One could argue they left it at 3G because it's an unlocked device and they have no clue on whether or not it will actually work on LTE given the disarray T-Mobile's LTE network bands/coverage ares are in but yeah.. it's Best Buy. Expect the worst, always. Also kinda funny because these days, given what we know of BB 10.2.1, they could ALMOST get away with selling BB10 devices as Android devices LOL.

Vodafone told me my STL-1 is 4G but it isn't as far as I know. It had a 4G sticker on the box and 4G on the screen but I think this model is marketed as being 4G.

On 4G it's no where near as fast as my other proper 4G BlackBerry10's.

STL 100-1 does not support LTE

I say, that'd be the reason they specify 3G, that's the lowest common denominator, and they probably don't want to be wrong.

In general the staff at Best Buy and Futureshop are not very knowledgeable about most of the products in the store. However, in their defence, I doubt Best Buy pays their sales staff sufficiently to encourage them to cultivate a career mindset.

This is a reason BlackBerry should never have implemented Google Android support for BlackBerry OS 10.

My toaster can do 4G. As can my TV, coffee maker and shoes.

The definition of "4G" is deliberately variable and nothing more than a marketing term. The STL100-1 can do HSPA+, while the other three have LTE. That is certain.

Well, 4G standard specifications used to exist, but carrier pressure forced the maintainer organization to back down and let people specify stuff themselves. 'least 'twas what I heard.

totally agree with you on this comment, at our local store I was told they no longeru carry blackberry, but on the display table was the z 10, and I asked about it and his reply was we are not pushing it because blackberry is going out of business and also every one wants the iphone and androids

The 4g term was suppose to refer to lte-advance. But since carriers mislabeled hspa and lte has 4g they were forced to include those two as 4g. It's all cause of marketing and wanting to make the carriers sound like they have the latest and greatest. Lol.
