    Default The Ideal Dock

I love my Playbook dock, but it feels like it could do more. We know they will be releasing a "multimedia dock". For me, if it had these 3 features it would be ideal:
1 - Can fit phone with or without a case/skin on it
2 - Has a microHdmi port on the back
3 - Have NFC built in to it so that when you go to sleep you just tap the dock to put your phone in bedside mode, then dock in, and when you wake just tap again to exit bedside mode.

One other nice feature would be to have room on the bottom to charge a spare battery.

    What do you think?

The first two options would be nice, but three makes no sense to me. Why go through the extra steps of activating NFC (if it's off) and tapping the phone on the dock to activate bedside mode when it's done automatically upon docking it? It can be restricted based on the time of day as well if you just want to charge the phone.

My 9900 does not automatically go in to bedside mode when plugged in, it simply brings up the clock. If you just want to charge the phone just dock it, but if you are going to sleep just tap to enable bedside mode and then dock. Also, if you are never interested in using NFC yeah you can leave it off, but if you would use this feature or other NFC features, you can leave it on because it has no effect on your battery (when the screen is off, NFC is off, and when you tap it uses NFC for not even a second).

You might have to check your options then. Either way, what you're describing should be possible through an NFC sticker that you could slap onto the dock, assuming RIM released the appropriate APIs to make such an app like NFC shortcuts (I think that's what it was called for OS7) possible.
