I love my z10 and getting all my friends and family on board but sister birthday is coming up and she was a new phone but she Wants a iphone so she can have all her apps from I pod but I told her I don't support apple no more lol ( sold my 4S for the new z10 ) so I'm still thinking about it, you guys thunk I should buy her the iphone or the new z10?

That depends. If those apps are really important to her and there are no suitable alternatives on BlackBerry 10, then the iPhone would probably be a better fit for her. She could also consider Android if you're really against Apple, since the Play Store is vast enough to most likely have suitable alternatives for any apps she likes.

It's kind of a shame that apps aren't portable from platform to platform, the more apps I purchase on my blackberry, the more likely I am to stay with BlackBerry, ad it would cost a fair bit to repurchase, unfortunately this holds true with other platforms, people who have spent a lot of money on iPhone apps will consider this when the decide to purchase a new phone.

Your sister has told you what she wants (iPhone) and why she wants it (access to her previously purchased apps). It is her birthday, not yours.

In my opinion the only way getting a Z10 for her would be at all acceptable is if you found out what apps she wants and needs, checked and confirmed their availability on the Z10, and purchased these apps for her with the Z10. This is possible, but I fear unlikely at this point. Hopefully BB10 takes off and in 6 months or so this will be a realistic option.

Regarding support. If she can use her iPod, she will be able to use an iPhone without difficulty.

If she has an iPod, she can till use your iPod and a z10. And have all the apps she wants, best of both worlds, she gets invested in bb and when the apps come, she can discard her iPod.

Hence why BlackBerry is supporting HTML5, not as rich a tool as native tools, but theoretically would be cross platform, I believe that is true, it please correct me if I am wrong.
