Hub question
I am wondering when you set-up an email acct, do you get an icon on the home screen along with bbm, texts, etc or does it only go into the Hub? I never managed to set up email before returning my Z10 (defective unit) but it struck me that checking the icon would be one less step than always having to swipe into the Hub to look. Also, if you don't use the Hub can it be locked? And if you check your bbm, texts etc from the icon page, does the Hub mark them as "read" or do you have to open the Hub and mark them again? Thanks.

Not sure as to the last part of your question - can't test it cause I have nothing new incoming at this time of night! As to the first part, yes - it is only shown in the hub and there are no individual icons that I've seen for different email accounts.

You have no emails icons, you can check each email account withing the hub, just click the bb button at the bottom left of the screen and you can check each type of notification individually, yes your messages get marked as read in hub if you read them in the stand alone app

Checking notifications in the app removes the notification in the hub as well, unless the app isn't programmed correctly. For example, in Google Talk and BBM, checking messages in either app will show those messages as read if you look in the hub.
As for the extra icons; no. It's really pointless. It's 2 swipes to go into the hub and swiping to the mailbox list. Realistically, getting to the icon on your home screen, especially if you put your mail icons in a folder, will probably take longer. It's just something people have to get used to. Change is good. - 02-08-2013, 01:35 AM #7
You can even avoid the swipe by clicking the the very first small icon you have at bottom right above the phone, search and camera buttons
