Looking at this feature. On the Q5 and Q10 you can press the number keys to get the screen to light up.

On the Z30 it's to far of a reach. With the new OS10.2.1 update. They need to figure out a better way. That way we can see the notifications and tap them to enter the program.

A triple tap of the screen or something. Unless there is a feature to do this that I do not know about.

    Hi Patrick,
you mean a swipe or a press on the pwr button is too long ? Or is that the sequence ...
Sorry I may have missed something (my foreign english).

The device is too large. I have to always use my other hand. I think a double tap would work. Best.

turn on swipe to unlock. under settings >> Display >> Allow gestures when locked

then Just swipe from the bottom up a bit until the lock screen lights up. then swipe back down. (all of this while not removing your fingers from swipe) should be able to be done with your thumb. then it can be done with 1 hand.

or swipe up and hit cancel.

Swiping up to wake up phone is not that cumbersome.

Swiping up is not hard. But looking at notification screen is. So the consensus is a small swipe. I wish BB would allow a double or tripe tap

The LG something or other wakes with taps. Maybe that device will serve your needs better.

You swipe up.... even when the screen is off, you just swipe up from the bottom bezel.

The only time I've ever used my power button is to lock the phone or restart. Don't think I've ever used it to either view the lock screen for notifications or to get right in.

I would like the UPWARD Swipe to work when the z10 is in Landscape mode. That is, if it fell asleep in Landscape mode then I should be able to swipe from the bottom of the Landscape. Actually, I wish it worked like the Playbook both the Awakening Swipe and the Terminate App (swipe off the screen rather than aim for that little x)
