    Hi,

I'm a long-time CrackBerry reader, but this is my first forums post. My questions:

    (1) Is there any way to recover a particular text message thread/conversation (sms/mms) that I accidentally deleted from my Z10? I thought I was deleting a single text, not the whole thread.

    (2) Can I use BlackBerry Link to get the conversation/thread back from my old BlackBerry Storm 2 without over-writing my more recent threads/conversations with others?

    I'd appreciated your help. Thanks!

Unless you backed it up there is no way to retrieve. And that also you would have to back it up right before you deleted the thread.

Try just searching for texts from that person in the universal search, it's shown deleted texts for me before

Ask the other person on the texts to make a copy and send that?

I have deleted a text message chat and I don't know how to back it up, should I need to do so in the future.

Link won't work for you with the Storm, but maybe Device Switch Wizard ( or whatever it's called, sorry) from BlackBerry World will do the trick. It's BlackBerry's own app for transferring Data to a new phone. As long as you have the thread on the Storm, it should work.

Also, Protect used to backup such data. If you backed up back then, and you're using the same BBID, you should be given the option to restore the backup from Settings/Blackberry Protect. Unless you have already restored the backups, then the choice is removed.

Sue IM, you will need to do regular backups with BlackBerry Link, or purchase an app from BlackBerry World that will back up SMS.

You can also cut and paste into email or a document to save.
