While driving home in traffic on the highway I was able to call four people hands free using voice control. It was to cancel an event that was planned for tonight. I then used voice control to schedule the new date for the event. I thought it was so convenient and a lot safer than typing on the device. How often do you use voice control in your car ?

Btw I dictated most of the text in this message.

Never, my main languages are Dutch and Papiamentu and none of them are supported by the voice control
I could use English, Spanish or French, but don't bother too much

Tried the other day but kept dialing people except the person I was trying to call! Each name was totally different

Never, takes to long. I can wait to read messages later and if I want to call someone Microsoft sync in my F150 takes care of that for me.

I just started this week after buying a window car mount. I actually used it for texting. Out of about 30 texts, it only misunderstood me twice. Very handy and obviously much safer. I wouldn't text while on route if it was not available. I heard there is an app that reads your emails and texts out loud. . Does anyone know anything about that?

I hook up via bluetooth while driving and then talk through my car's voice control system to make calls. It's easier to use bluetooth, because the car not only announces I'm calling the intended person but it also tells me who is calling me, plus the larger phone screen via car's dash, removes the need for me to swap out sunglasses for my reading glasses. I don't bother with text or email while driving.. but use voice for text messaging when my hands are busy... dressing, typing elsewhere, cooking, etc... makes life easier for those impatient ppl who expect an immediate response

Not sure about an app but briefly caught on local news some vehicles will be incorporating the ability to read texts and emails outloud and allow the driver to respond via voice->text... as if driving in and of itself isn't difficult for some people. ;-)

I use voice dialing daily, but haven't even tried any of the other voice features. Maybe I should change the setting to full voice rec and see what it can do :-)

BBM to speech and speech to BBM would be amazing. Does that exist?

Never, 'cos the time I need to use it in my car it never works. Tried calling a contact driving home yesterday and it couldn't make out who I said, even when I put on my best BBC accent. Tried three times each an utter failure.

I find that it's ten times better if you use it with a hands-free blue tooth device because it has noise cancellation and the device has a button you can press right on your ear to activate voice control.

Kind of defeats the object of having bluetooth in your car already if you have to use another bluetooth device to get voice control to work correctly.
