I'm with Telus in Ontario also and I pay 100 for unlimited talk and text nationwide which came with 6gb.

I'm heading back on Tuesday to pick up my wifes white z10 and I'll more then likely end upgrading her current 500mb to something a bit larger
My reasoning is mainly bow that I have this phone I find that there's really no limitation to accessing anything anywhere and I'd rather pay to know that we can then to worry about overages.
    Take carr

Heard Wind's service sucked though, but they are really cheap.

Indeed, Wind is pretty much useless if you travel out of Toronto often, as you'll be hit with massive roaming charges. They also don't have LTE. But if LTE isn't a concern for you and you don't travel out of town much, it's a good deal.

As for me, when I switched to my Z10, I got on the phone to negotiate a new plan with Telus. I used to pay $63 a month for 1GB (plus another $7 on top for a Device Protection Plan), now I pay $60/month for 6GB (plus 200 minutes, unlimited SMS and MMS).

Never went over 1 gig except for that one time when wifi was off and I played music for 3 days at home. Other then that not even over 400 mb a month.

when you people say you have 6gb for $30, does that mean you pay $30 per month or is it an additional $30 on top of your voice plan to have 6GB?

    On top of.

Most people here are listing their full bill cost, but a few are just quoting their data plan only (which is pretty irrelevant unless you Only have data (in which case you can't get the $30/6GB plan)) which makes it hard to actually compare.

PS I am now at 900+MB in the last 5 days. For anyone that only has 1GB or less be very very careful your first couple months

In Qatar I am paying 90$ for:
Unlimited On-network Call/SMS(Texting)/MMS(Picture and Video texting)
20 hours International Calling to any country including local calls to other carriers
250 SMS to the other local operators
1.75 GB Internet (More than what I need but that's the least I can get with Postpaid(Bill) )
Caller ID, Voice Mail, Call Forwarding over on-network only, Call Waiting, Conference Calls.

I know this thread is about Data Costs only, but it comes free with my plan. But if I had to buy the same amount of data myself over Prepaid It would cost me about 20$ for 1.75GB.

    Carrier: Vodafone Qatar
They are currently doing a 50% discount on everything for 6 months so actually now I am paying 45$.

12usd/9€ for 1GB, 3G, Austria. But I never go over 100MB as I only surf the internet. I do normal phone calls a lot because I have 16 hours per month free and all my colleagues have that as well, so no voice traffic over 3G necessary.

    Oi.

I am looking at upgrading to Z10 from my 8520 (2 years old).
I have NO data plan on my 8520 currently. I am with Rogers and I pay around $35 a month (for some reason my usual $41 bill went down in October.....I'm not complaining)

To upgrade to a Z10 I would be looking at a DISCOUNTED bill of $52 and change. I say discounted because I spent DAYS on the phone with Rogers dickering and complaining about their lousy support.
    That $52 would get me:
    1000 nation-wide minutes a month (I currently have a nation-wide my-10)
    Unlimited evenings and weekends
    Unlimited text/BBM/picture and video messaging
    Call display
    Voice Mail
And a whopping 150mb of data.

The data sucks but here is my thoughts:
I am a SAHM - I am home 95% of the time, in a wifi zone. I have NEVER had a data plan for the 6 years I have owned a phone here in Ontario. I have survived very well, relying on wifi hotspots.
I would love at least 1g of data to save my ****. But I kindda have a $45-$50 budget. So I plan on running on wifi-prefered while at home. I have unlimited BBM and texting, so that won't be eating into my data.
This offer is on the table until May 1st - along with the $139 phone price
I need nation wide minutes and they don't do My-10 anymore. I don't use my phone for browsing and I never will when I am outside of wifi. I would like to find out if there is a way to turn off data without disrupting BBM. I just wish I didn't have to have it PERIOD!
