    Pull down from top and hit notification icon if it is set to normal when you hit icon it will silence it.

    The only issue is that phone calls come through on bedside mode.
    You can turn that off

    Only because I noticed it was left out, you have to go into main volume settings and turn off "always adjust media volume" to enable the volume rockers to modify your notifications volume. Also, when you get to the last level, you're phone will vibrate, but that is only to tell you that you're at the last level, it still acts just as the bell icon in the top menu. The lowest setting will be your last chosen profile setting, be it vibrate or silence all.

    Make sure that media player is not active, otherwise it will still adjust media volume (Window will pop up showing active media)

    Best way is if you go to volume settings, and uncheck the option that says to use volume buttons as media volume only. Then you just lower the volume all the way until it goes to Silent.
