Did u disable all mail label from being seen in imap On a computer in gmail settings? Also have to disable auto expunge and enable the 2nd option as I posted in the thread I linked.

Yes, did all that. I'm hiding All Mail from both the labels list and IMAP and I set auto-expunge to off and move to trash.

I'm wondering if there is a way to manually expunge the mail? Maybe it's sitting in All Mail until the mail client tells it to expunge?

Gmail is literally useless to me if this can't get fixed.

Hi there...

Experienced the same problems, with the archive vs deleting...

I then made a folder which I move (file) the mails for deleting into, and when i'm on my Mac I delete the content of the folder...

It works, still would like AES back with Google Apps free, but that won't happen any time soon...
Even considered moving 17 mail address over to outlook.com ...but since this works ok I will not start charging.

Thanks for that... It's very annoying because in the main Hub window, I don't know whether the email is from Gmail or Yahoo or whatever, so how am I supposed to know if I'm going to delete one or 'file' the other? I guess I'll have to start reading my emails only via a filtered view. Lame.

I'm still considering moving to Outlook.

What's odd is that on Yahoo!, while it does delete the mail, it skips the trash completely and is permanently deleted.

I can't actually confirm this (as I'm not running 10.2.1) but I don't see why this would change given that it is a problem that you'd have with any IMAP client on any platform when interfacing with GMail...

But I might be able to test it out on a spare device.
