You have 2 Options:

1. Device Wipe
2. Autoloader

I strongly suggests the second one. Go > HERE! CLICK ME! < "Pay attention to the number" download the autoloader for your Z10 Model.

I think "formatting" the device is called "wiping" or "security wipe" coz you find it in security options here screenshot in german, I placed the icon at the bottom of the list so you see it.
The SD card is not "formatted" though, so take it out.
Necessary step before giving up the device, it results in losing all private data (even Apps).
Make sure you back up (for example via Link or the App "FireChestBackUp") so you can restore the data if you regret it.
