I had a Torch 9810 with a 200 meg plan and I was ok. Got my z10 bumped up to 500 megs at the same time. Still, that was not enough. I have gone from about 150 megs a month to between 1 and 2 GB per month.

T-Mobile only charges $10 for 2.5 gigs so I am ok.

If your usage stays the same, expect your data to triple. The problem is, with all of the advanced capabilities, you are likely to start using even more data.

it really depends upon the amount of time you are connected to WIFI throughout the month. Most people use way less data than the carriers would like you to think. I used about the same amount of data you are reporting on my 9900. I have since been running an iphone and a Q10 (two different users) where between the two we burn about 300 MB's a month even though we have a 2 GB plan. No gaming but tons of messaging and attachments of business files, almost no multimedia/video on carriers.

Another real world measurement for a Q10 use case that might be useful for you is a recent trip i did to Paris; 7 days, just under 50 MB of data but almost non-stop google maps, an entire week of business email, normal attachment viewing when not on wifi, no app updates because of the rates but i never didn't download anything i needed.

My guess is you will see 2-3 X the data usage of your 9900 but wifi has become so pervasive you might find it to be less depending upon how you use your device.

Just make sure when you set up your phone and apps to be on wifi, i once set up a new dropbox account on a device and forgot to put it on wifi...burned through several gigs of data due to a shedload of pinned files.

My wife and two share 1 gig and have both phones ( she has an S4) set to only download new apps or updates when connected to wifi only. That's with heavy Internet use. No streaming music or video though.

I typically use a bit more than 1 Gig per month. Browsing is probably the worse enemy since data won't be compressed anymore and certain webpages are very heavy on data.

I have a really good corporate plan with Rogers and am pleased with what I get for the cost ($33.60 tax in for voice/data). It's part of the reason I haven't upgraded. I live in the suburbs so Wind isn't really an option.

if you can get atleast 1gb that should be ok. The wife has the Q10 and a few emails/facebook and lots and lots of bbm and she already had used 150mb in 2 days. Last month her usage (again being lite and trying to connect to wifi when she can) was at 830mb. The first month she got the Q10 she exceeded 1gb (but mind you she did not use wifi that time and she downloaded a few apps + the 10.2 update)

I'm somewhat in the same boat as you however I already got a z10 but I'm not using it much due to data consumption. I'm still using my 9900 but since that runs on the older OS and compresses data, even on heavy data use I barely broke 250mb (even when I streamed a few youtube videos)
I'm trying to haggle with my carrier to see if I can get a deal on more data.

I have 6gb data and will never get rid of it as long as I can, I used to have 1gb and was always watching how much I used.. I wouldn't go any less than 1gb if you don't mind only checking emails/bbm/a bit of Facebook..

Currently I have about a week left until my data resets and I'm sitting at 3.2 gb used. Mind yah a lot of that is youtube and downloading apps, but it adds up quick

80% of time I use Wi-Fi (I have it at home, @work, @coffieshops where I hangout) and I just fit in on my 325MB monthly plan. And I consider myself light/moderate user.

I currently have 150 MB for my 9900 but am thinking about getting the Z10 due to the new $200 unlocked price.

I message/email a lot, browse here and there, and barely use 50 MB on my 9900, but I understand that the Z10 does not have BIS compression.

I would not stream audio/video on the go.

is it even worth upgrading? I love the physical keyboard but as my 9900 is 2.5 years old, it just isn't how it used to be.
1gb and use wifi when possible

I'd say without the compression from BIS that I use about 5 times as much data as I once did. Really miss the compression because at&t capped my plan at 5GB years ago, and even with BIS I was toeing the line. Had to get a portable wi-fi device to compensate for my usage.

I average about 500-600 mb a month on my Z. That is including occasional web browsing, using the Facebook and crackberry app several times a day and using the GPS several times a month.

    On wifi every evening
