How do I install a program from a DVD to my Z10. ?
I have tried a few different ways, but no success.
I have a 64GB SD card in my Z10, so that I can copy some DVD's, [ from my collection ], and watch them when I am away from home.
    .....................................
Also, I have Kaspersky Internet Security on my home PC.
    I have a "3 device" version.
How do I load this onto my Z10. ?
    .....................................
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

You can't just simply load PC software onto a smartphone. It's a different platform entirely. Not even Windows Phones let you do that.

As for DvDs, get a DvD converter program that will convert to mp4, and you can watch them on a Z10. I'm not going to overwhelm you with the best settings for video and audio, but usually the default settings will suffice for beginners.

You can in fact run pc apps in an emulator, but its terribly slow. Emulators include dosbox, qemu, jpc, jslinux.

I wouldn't recommend it though. Old dos games are ok, but new stuff is too slow.

As far as dvd videos, get a ripper and convert to mp4.

easy, just insert the DVD into the cd-rom slot of the Z10, then it should autostart ;-)

Don't be silly, there is no cd or DVD slot on the z10! What you have to do is just cut a piece the size of a micro sd card of the DVD that has the program or movie you want and. Replace that where the current memory card is (if you have installed one). In the z10. Bb10 will recognise and read it right away after restarting!

Would a DVD work on a Z30 with USB OTG? That would be crazy!

Are there still peripheral usb-dvd drives available? I had one for using with a laptop ages ago?

Wow. That's the first time I've heard of anyone trying to install PX software on a smartphone.

    Mom, is that you?

I believe that Mkelly provided a useful answer. I have to presume that the OP wanted a 'tv program' or some movie moved/copied from a dvd to the phone and not some Application or computer "program".

Handbrake is free. There are some other free options and commercial programs that can rip dvd's and copy the results to the z10 or a computer.

OP specifically said he wants to load Kaspersky Internet Security...

I think OP meant both TV programmes and the Kaspersky software. There were a lot of dots in between.

There is a Kaspersky version for the Android Platform but not for BB10. Youcan get it with Snap or:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.kms.free
I do not think this is needed on BB10 as the Android Runtime runs in it's own allocated memory space on BB10.

The DVD version of Kaspersky is written for Windows or MAC and therefore will not work on a BB10 device.
