Hi guys,

I love making DIY cases for my BBs, sticking a small magnet inside them at required locations to trigger the holster profile. With my Z10 however, I am unable to find the correct position. Can someone with a holster point it out to me ?

PS: I am thinking of making a flip case that would 'Holster Profile' my BB when the flap is flipped
PPS: I HAVE tried running the magnet all over my phone, to no reaction at all. (This worked with previous phones) There are some strong magnetic forces at the lower end of the phone though. But they may be due to the speaker.

Also it's a pretty strong magnet. I work at a steel mill and I'm constantly picking metal silvers of that area.

Try the middle, back of phone. Just tried that and it works

In line with the hdmi port 1/4 or 1/2 inch or so inward. The magnet in an official bb case is in the front (screen side)

Also curious though why you think there's a holster profile. There's isn't one yet for BB10. I really hope they put it back in.

There are holster settings for calling, I just wanted the sleep and waking thing to work. Hope that works (havent tried it yet, since I dont HAVE a holster )

And who says there wont be one in the future, after the mind-numbing features they have added in the 10.2.1.1055 leak

I was trying along the center line, never thought it could be off center. I was worried that I had a faulty piece

Interesting to hear that it's off center. I always put my Z10 in the holster with the screen facing inwards -- always made more sense to me cause when you take it out its face up non your palm. And I've checked, and the magnet triggers the sleep/wake properly regardless of which way I put it in. I guess it must be a strong magnet...
