I have a battery pack from newtrent.com that has 1A and 2.1A ports for charging. Is it okay to charge my z10 from either port or no?

Lithium Ion batteries require a very specific and highly controlled charge cycle, utilizing a microprocessor controlled charge circuit. The battery charger circuitry built into the phone will only draw at maximum what it is rated/designed to deliver for the battery supplied with the phone - it may or may not charge more quickly on the higher powered port, but if it does, it should be safe to use. A higher output power supply cannot "overpower" the charging circuitry.

That being said, it is always preferable to charge any battery at less than maximum rate where possible, which minimizes heat and electrochemical stress on the battery and prolongs its life. This is somewhat less of a concern on the Z10 since it has an easily replaced battery and they are quite affordably priced.

i was thinking about buying the blackberry premium car charger where it is rated at 1.8A. would that be a good idea to use on my Z10?

I recommend everyone looking for an on the go charger check out newtrent.com

The 12000 mah battery pack I got from them should charge my z10 about 6 times from 0%! Their prices are also fantastic.

It's been great to have and very have to worry about running out of battery

I used the charger from PlayBook which has a higher AMp output. Using a regular usb charger I get 16% - 25% charge an hour. Using Playbook charger I get 66% an hour (figure from app called 'Battery Indicator' a wonderful andriod app in BB World) So if charging it taking too long, time to swap chargers!

Both myself and @azeis (CrackBerry Adam) use our PlayBook chargers(BB Prem. Charger, 1800mAh) with our Z10s, and i have had no side effects.
