I need to be able to turn off my Z10 at night but for it to switch on at a certain time and the alarm to go off afew minutes later like my 9780 and 9360

Nope. That feature isn't available for Z10. A lot of people have been asking for it so hopefully BB is listening

When you're setting up your alarm in the 'Clock' screen, swipe down from the top and you'll see the 'Bedside Mode' feature. Click it on and all the phone functions will be put to sleep except incoming calls (I believe). The alarm will still work as will any calendar reminders you have set. Also, you can use the calendar reminders in lieu of the alarm if you want to vary your rising hour during the week, as well as having the device give you an alarm during other periods during the day.

If you don't want to be disturbed by incoming calls you can go to settings and either turn your incoming calls to silent, or turn off all your radio connections by putting it in 'Airplane Mode'.

Bedside mode is far from Auto On/Off... Completely different games. I'm with the OP, I wanna have the option to turn it off and have it wake up automatically at certain times. Now, the PlayBook I wouldn't mind having something like Bedside mode...

This is probably the one things that really separates BB users in groups.

I loved that feature too and was disappointed to not find it on my new z10
