If I side load this Android app on my Z10 for my Dad to try he will trade in four iphone 4's for Z10.

He told the app developer that he had a Z10 and this is the link he gave him telling to try their BETA version:

Best way would be to ask the developer to convert himself the app to the *.bar format (I presume this is not the case, unfortunately).

Other good solution would be to ask the developer to compile the app with these settings in the AndroidManifest.xml file:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="10" android:targetSdkVersion="10" />
and to send you the resulting *.apk file (and also to confirm he is OK with you converting the file to *.bar format & BB10 sideloading).

If you have the *.apk file compiled with the above settings, you could use one of these utilities in order to make a BB10 compatible file (a *.bar file that could be sideloaded): Download for Windows - Runtime for Android apps - BlackBerry Developer

If you have the *.apk file, but the conversion to *.bar is too complicated for you, you may ask a developer to do it for you. I'll do it, provided that the original developer approves it.
