Hello, I have Z10 phone around 6 months and since last week when I plug in headphones it doesn't recognise them. Music etc comes from speaker even if I plug them in. Tried all the possible headphones from Apple to Android nothing works.

Could it be faulty jack?

Download blackberry Virtual Expert (it may be included in newer versions of the OS). It contains a series of tests including a test of headphones.

I know some folks have found that they have to use a bit of force to get the jack fully inserted but it sounds as if you have been using headphones regularly so that is probably not the issue.

It could certainly be hardware and it should be covered by warranty.

Could very well be a faulty jack. Last year I had the same problem and it was a faulty jack. Ended up having to send the phone to BlackBerry for repair. Took 2 weeks. Luckily the phone was still under warranty.

Have it already and it fails all the tests what is about headphones. The rest pass, just the headphones. thanks anyway

Will try to contact shop where bought phone. Hope all be sorted fast.

Mine did that because it had lint in it from me stuffing the phone down my trouser pocket every day. Cleaned out the lint and the head phones worked again.

Thanks everyone, yesterday got software update, after that is started working. Wonder how it even is connected...
