I want to thank Crackberry for this community. Since I have gotten my Z10 and the Crackberry app, this has been the community I've been frequenting the most. I'm loving my phone and all I have been learning via Crackberry.

I am however really annoyed by the different threads that are being created and receiving the most attention. I like to call it them the hater threads. I have no problem with people coming with genuine concerns and looking for solutions to fix their problems but people ranting about how crappy the phone is because they can't figure out how to use it is their issue and it needs to be kept that way.

To keep this community viable and an interesting place to share information we need to ignore the haters and not acknowledge them unless they are people with issues looking for solutions.

I hope this will weave out some of the non constructive criticism that have been littering the forum. Simply ignore.

The second issue is the flipside: someone posting a legitimate question or criticism and being attacked as a troll. We're not winning over any fans for either the new platform or this site when we act like that.

You all have to go tell the OP he is wrong, he needs to go buy another phone because the bb10 platform is above his knowledge etc. If you really dont like the threads why do you all give them so much attention? Like the OP says "simply ignore" instead of taking the bait

I agree that the issue will not be completely eliminated but there are some steps we can take to protect the integrity of this place.

As to the second issue you raise, my suggestion is limiting responses to something constructive. Avoid being defensive and if the OP still seems to be aggressive then proceed by ignoring.

This of course is only successful if members decide to think rationally before posting replies and respect the integrity of this board.

I believe something special has started and I just want to make sure it continues to thrive.

Any other suggestions are welcomed, let's try and make this thing better!

Just like one person's freedom fighter is another person's terrorist, it could be that one person's so called hater or troll is another person's unbiased critic.

It also has to do with the reader's own personal perspective that places a judgement on a post that the writer never intended.

Agree. It's hard to ignore, but ignoring them is the best measure.

Agreed. Haters going to amplify things they dislike. Best is to ignore those threads and just let then vent their displeasure. But I guess people always find the need to defend what they disagreed with.

Instead of having 60 or 70 replies to a thread that's absolutely useless, just 'like' a post of someone else who already got the point across. I just don't think it is necessary for everyone to feel the need to defend blackberry every time a troll comes around.

Obviously this is just my opinion and everyone is free to say and do what the want. However, it would be nice if we get some people on board.

Agreed. When I get my Z10 on my June upgrade I will be able to tell for myself whether the phone suits or not. If it suits, I will state so. If it doesn't, I will state so. And it won't be "hating" or "trolling," Rather, it will be my experience in relation to legacy BB and the other phones I use.

You have enough different devices that you can use to make a careful comparison. It may be the Best BlackBerry Ever, but that doesn't make it the most disruptive and revolutionary technology ever.

I spent a couple of hours on the Android and iMore forums checking out threads and it was like visiting a Mormon or Quaker convention, (not that there's anything wrong with those fine folks) compared to the Crackberry.com forums. I didn't see any sign of BB users posting items with provocative thread titles or dissing the Android or Apple products. To be fair, I didn't spend as much time there as my (admittedly limited also) time here. But still, the difference was like night and day. Anybody else notice this?
