handlebar bike mount and apps?
since the Z10 media abilties are so much better than preivous devices I'm now looking at brining my Z10 with me on my bike rides instead of my ipod. The ipod always just stayed pocketed because of the lack of GSP abilities... but now I'm curious. Is there a decent app for tracking bike rides that anyone has found yet? And is there a half decent bike mount that you trust. Would be nice too have a speedometer and then us the built in speaker or bluetooth speaker for audio so I'm not blocking out the environment noise with headphones (not exactly safe)

Endomondo is great but I don't know if they're developing for BlackBerry 10 yet. I usually listen to music through a single ear bud. I saw this mount on facebook yesterday, it looks better than the one I have for my Bold:

I have viewranger

sideloaded onto my Playbook so I assume it may also be able to be sideloaded onto the Z10? - 03-12-2013, 02:28 PM #4
Search for Sports Tracker. Not as good as Endomundo, but a decent replacement. And yes, I believe there is a handlebar mount in the Crackberry shop...

Crackberry has the weather resistant handlebar mounted case. It's like a mini motorcycle tank bag for your phone with a see through plastic cover. Easily holds the z10 and a spare battery pack. Fits my bicycle and motorbike handlebars.
Install Ulysse Speedometer, and bluetooth to whatever headset you have.Playbook and Z10 - 03-13-2013, 03:53 PM #8BlackBerry since 2008

If you have to find it again just search for handlebar. And it doesn't show it, but there is a little grommeted hole at the top for passing through a wire/headphone plug.Playbook and Z10 - 03-14-2013, 09:14 AM #10
OP, you are brave... if you wipe out, the chances of you surviving is high, but your phone, not so much. I have seen a friend of mine who loves biking the trails around here, had his Samsung SIII mounted and he wiped out, and the handlebar mount with his phone in it went flying and smashed his phone. His entire front glass on the phone was smashed and cracked. Couldn't use it, and had to spend $180 to get a replacement screen.
