Hi friends I'm a Z10 user and i tried to install Google Maps. But many of the times the Maps App didn't even open after installing. Even if it opened the Map didn't load. I searched a lot and finally i found a Google Maps App (Modified) in XDA. This is working fine on my Z10 STL100-1 running 10.3.1.522 at the time of posting this.
    Included the app below. Enjoy.

I think this one is the older version of google maps. Got the latest downloaded via snap, aside from features that require login credentials using a google account, it's good.

The latest version on snap will not work properly on STL100-1.

The maps won't load or the screen turns jittery

Can you tell which version of Google Maps is running fine. Because the version 7 and above are not working properly.

The one directly from Snap works perfectly except you can't login to view your starred places. Navigation and everything is quite good, especially on the Passport's wide screen.

I downloaded the latest from snap on my passport and works fine. Recommend a reboot before starting it up for the first time. Also takes a while to load for the first time only. After that, it's fine

I used it a couple day ago for the first time on the Passport. The squareish screen really make it very useful as a turn by turn navigation device. You can clearly see all the dynamically recalculating peripheral alternate route ETA info as you drive. Half of it is Google Maps nice features, but the Passport's screen really does a nice job delivering them.

Here is the link for Maps 7.0.2 which is an earlier iteration of new google maps.. login works with Cobalt's patched Google login app and doesn't have problem with Cobalt's patched google play services app..

Newer versions of maps don't work when both "login" and "play services" apps are installed..

BTW.. check out Cobalt's Google apps Landing page.. it is a great resource to have most if not all Google apps running properly.... be sure to to download Google Framework app posted in post #369.. it is not posted in OP yet..

    Cheers..

I've installed Google Maps version 9.0 on my Z30 running the 10.3.1 leak.
It works fine though when it comes to voice guidance it does not SAY STREET NAMES.
Is there any way to get this to work (i.e. to get it to say/speak the street names) ???

    Thank you

I just updated to version 9 and indeed the spoken navigation guidance does not seem to be working. Not sure what's up with that, but the previous version as of a few days ago worked fine.

Rar is an archive format. Long press on the file, select Unzip. Then you can just tap and install the apk file, provided you have "Allow apps from other sources to be installed" set to on.
