I downloaded a 10.1 leak to get the Protect restore feature from my lost Torch. First problem is you can do one restore only, at one time at that, and it lists both my Torches (with no dates) so I don't know which one to restore. Assuming I choose wisely, once this is done, and I get the data off the phone and on to my PC, how do I get the OS to go BACK to 10.0.9? I don't want to leave it at 10.1 until the over-the-air update happens. Which I presume at this rate will be sometime in 2015.

    Thanks
    John

Probably easiest to keep the leak. You know leaks are real versions of the operating system and unmodified?

Oh yes, but I'm bringing the phone back to exchange for the Q10 (they didn't have it in stock when I went). And I don't want to bring it back with 10.1 on there since it's not official and they might not take it back. Thanks.

Pretty sure if you do a security wipe you can use BlackBerry restore again...

Can't you just use Link and reload the device software?

You have to do a soft brick, there's a section on restoring the OS. I claim no responsibility, but if you do a forum search you shall find.

Run any OS autoloader file (.exe) and while it still loading just unplug your usb, by then your phone'll be soft bricked. After that open Link, plug your phone, and there you go, you'll see an option to reload your OS by downloading from BlackBerry server, which is the latest official version from your carrier.

I seriously doubt they would reject the phone because it is on 10.1
